In the game Homeworld, Sajuuk is a mythological entity or deity. While there is no universal religion among the former Kushan, (the new Hiigarans), almost all believe that in some form or another, Sajuuk—the Great Maker, He Whose Hand Shapes What Is—shapes the path of their destiny. Specifics vary widely from sect to sect. Some believe Sajuuk is a benign god who protected them in Exile and guided them to their home. Others view him as an uncaring deity whose actions follow their own, inexplicable design. From far in to the forgotten past of the Kushan people, there comes a damning Prophecy that 'Sajuuk - He Whose Hand Shapes What Is - will return and herald the coming of the End Time.' In Homeworld 2, Sajuuk is revealed to be a Progenitor who once forged the three Great Hyperspace Cores in the Progenitor Mothership's Foundry; the Bentusi claim that Sajuuk invented hyperdrives but this cannot be verified as the Bentusi are now extinct. The Cores were used to power an enormous warship also bearing his name. Though not explained why, the Progenitors eventually sealed the ship in Balcora, a huge black hole cluster in the galactic center which disabled all hyperspace activity in a 500 light year radius. The only access point was a Progenitor hyperspace gate which was coded to only activate in the presence of one of the Gatekeepers of Sajuuk (a pair of dreadnaughts). When the newly completed Pride of Hiigara pushes the Vaygr invaders out of the Sarum system, the Bentusi share with them the second part of the Prophecy: whoever unites the Trinity will unleash Sajuuk's power, a statement which eventually came to be true to the letter - the Hiigarans found the ship and reunited the Cores, reactivating it. Using the Cores in tandem, Sajuuk bypassed the gravity well and jumped straight to Hiigara where it turned around the siege's outcome. In the game, Sajuuk is armed with a variety of unique weapons. It's main weapon is an oversized version of the dreadnaughts' Phased Cannon Array, powerful enough to demolish battlecruisers with just three shots; it enjoys a maximum range of 20 km. In addition, secondary armament consists of eight Nanite Cannons which can deal major damage to everything which happens to be too close. Sajuuk is also the second largest functional unit seen so far in the Homeworld series, about 5 kilometres long (the only ship known to be larger is the Progenitor Mothership which is speculated to be 15 km long, judging from in-game pieces and a cutscene's schematics). With power comes the price however, as Sajuuk is also extremely slow, though this is somewhat compensated by the fact that it is the only controllable unit in the campaign which can execute tactical hyperspace jumps in order to rapidly get in range. When the single player campaign is beaten it is said that Sajuuk is a key itself, unlocking a massive network of Progenitor hyperspace hidden gates throughout the galaxy. This, in turn, creates a new golden age for the galaxy. Sajuuk-khar A Sajuuk-khar, simply put is a "chosen' figure or leader said to be an agent of Sajuuk who carries out Sajuuk's will in the universe for good or ill. The Sajuuk-Khar is said to appear in the "End Time" and either bring the galaxy to ruin or usher it into a glorious golden age. While mentioned briefly in the backstory of Homeworld, the Sajuuk-khar story takes center stage in Homeworld 2. A man named Makaan has rallied a massive army of various warring factions that inhabit the eastern fringe to his side claiming to be the Sajuuk-khar mentioned in the End Time prophecies. This army known as the Vaygr travels the stars with him raiding star systems as they go on a quest to find the three Hyperspace Cores. Makaan has one already but the other two have eluded him so far. The other two are in the possession of the Hiigarans and the Bentusi. As the game progresses it becomes more and more clear that the real Sajuuk-khar is not Makaan, but Karan S'jet the game's protagonist instead. S'jet is able to defeat Makaan and uses the power of the Cores and Sajuuk itself to bring the galaxy into a golden age of peace and prosperity known as the Age of S'jet. The result was a unified galaxy interconnected by a vast network of hyperspace gates. <references/>
