SADpg is an automatic playlist generator created and developed by David A. Johnson and Samuel Down at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland.
The generator uses musical features (as defined by the user) to create a similarity space (where each song is plotted as a point on axes that represent the selected musical features). A seed (start) song is selected and SADpg returns the n nearest songs to the seed song in the similarity space.
SADpg was developed using MATLAB.
The reason SADpg is different from other automatic playlist generators is that SADpg offers the user the ability to define the features, weighting of the features and n. SADpg will soon be free to download, however with v1.0 users will need MATLAB and the MIRtoolbox (which is free to download from the University of Jyväskylä website).
