BlockCommunity

Summary
BlockCommunity (BCy) is a mass-multiplayer online sandbox game where users can create their own virtual worlds using Lua 5.1.
History
BlockCommunity was originally founded by an x-ROBLOX member with the username "3DElement," who was the original CEO for the first domain under which the game was discussed and a small demographic was defined and attracted, blockcommunity.co.cc. BlockCommunity later moved to a .com domain, which had its progression decrease in speed after influence by Google. It was soon erased. All of the users of the forums then moved back to the co.cc domain. A while after this occurred, blockcommmunity.net was the official website.

The original release date was expected to come out to the public on July 15, 2010. This date was missed, and the current game engine release date is April 3, 2011.

"Lawl We should create our own site similar to roblox except better."

These are the words that launched over 93,000 forum posts, the registration of over 2,400 accounts.

BlockCommunity began in a forum thread on Roblox late on the 15th of July, 2009. The name BlockCommunity was chosen by a member of the aforementioned, Roblox, objection234. Nobody knows why, but it's pretty catchy and has been seen as better than the original "3DProgrammingland" suggested by 3DElement, one of the main influences on the game as it was coming into being. The other original founders were kevinreturns, objection234, ChipperNickel and zac352.

The abbreviation "BCY" was created by ChipperNickel, later changed to "BCy" by Moole (at some point). The creation of BlockCommunity was a reaction to what many of the members believed to be the inability of Roblox to recognize the members who developed the code, the greatest creators of content, were more important than its "customers" in every way other than economically.

On the 18th of July ds joined the project as web developer, as he was worried about how hopeless the rest of it looked. The soon established CEO, ds, made a basic homepage and set up some MyBB forums on www.blockcommunity.co.cc. It was arguably superior to what the member, kevinreturns, had set up, which was under a free forum host. On the 23rd of July, after ds reverted some of kevin's changes to the site, kevinreturns soon left BlockCommunity.
