S. E. Sever

S.E. Sever is a Writer based in Surrey, England
Early life and education
During early childhood, S.E. Sever's vision problems led her to develop her own hieroglyph-style picture alphabet because of her difficulty making out the traditional letters on the classroom blackboard.
When the community discovered her unorthodox writing style, Sever became interested in human perception and language.
Sever studied Archaeology, Socio-Biological Anthropology and Sumerian at Cavendish College.
After gaining a solid foundation on human evolution and linguistic development, she diverted her attention to how language and perception is used in mass communication. Her new focus was media.
S.E. Sever earned her second diploma in Film and Digital Media.
Early work and further education
Before working at various TV channels and running ADVlondon Media, a bespoke advertising agency in London, S.E. Sever completed her first published book at the age of 23; a guide book on living abroad. She received an offer to take part in a training program called Tycoon Boot Camp, sponsored by the London Knowledge Innovation Centre (LKIC) of Southbank University. She was then interviewed by the makers of Dragons’ Den for a BBC series called The Last Tycoon, and was featured as an ‘inspiring story’ in the Federation of Small Businesses Magazine.
S.E. Sever wrote her second book about the link between creativity and madness, based on her recent work experiences. When this book was published in 2009, she was recognized by the University College London (UCL), and granted an unconditional offer for an MSc degree on Cognitive Decision Sciences.
Current work
Even though her special alphabet was never approved of by her primary school teachers, S.E. Sever continued to draw letters to form picturesque stories. Her style has come to be known as ‘Severesque’.
Sever is currently writing articles for Work Your Way magazine, and is working on her first novel to be published in England, which is slated to be the first in a trilogy.
