Alex Hawley (born February 1, 1986 in Mississauga, Ontario), is a Canadian Interuniversity Sport baseball pitcher for the Guelph Gryphons at the University of Guelph. In his second season with the club, the Gryphons became the top ranked team in the country in baseball. He is known for having incredible accuracy whilst throwing fastballs, and for pitching in consecutive games without any days rest. High school career Hawley played for Lorne Park Secondary School’s Men’s Baseball throughout most of his time at the institution, posting a remarkable strikeout percentage. In 2004, the team played in OFSAA’s Prentice Cup Semi-Finals at the Rogers Centre. University career Hawley entered the University of Guelph in 2004. During his second season, he won the league’s Most Valuable Pitcher award and earned a scholarship to the University of British Columbia. He also competed in the 2005 College Showcase of Players and hit two home runs, one of which was estimated at 400 ft.
