Russian Camp, also known as the Mallo Hotel or Mallo Camp Motel, is located east of Four Corners, Wyoming in Weston County in northeastern Wyoming, just west of the South Dakota border in the Black Hills. It is so known because it was originally built to house Soviet military inspectors assigned to a monitoring site nearby. This site was used to monitor compliance of the United States with the provisions of the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty (SALT) in the 1970s, and therefore has a unique position as being one of the few Soviet military bases known to exist in the counterminous United States. Following the end of the treaty monitoring period, the property was transferred to Weston County, which uses it to support its Camp Mallo tourist facility.
