RUM Tareq Al Nasser

RUM Tareq Al Nasser
RUM Tareq Al Nasser Musical Group, an independent, non-for-profit, and non-
governmental organization founded in 1998, aims to contribute in blending the original
Jordanian musical spirit into the music heritage of the world by creating a new line of
music.

A music pioneer in Jordan & the Middle East; Tareq Al Nasser composed more than 55
musical pieces, and developed more than 33 rearrangements for local & international
folkloric songs. His project "Rum Group" of over 20 Jordanian musicians worked
throughout the years to build a very successful record that includes holding 125 concerts
through its participations in international festivals in more than 40 cities around the
world, and working with 200 musicians from different nationalities.

Another important factor of RUM Group's exposure and huge fan base is Tareq's
compositions in more than thirty Arab TV Drama series soundtracks starting with
the musical hit "Nihayat Rajol Shuja'" in 1994 till the latest success "Al Malek
Farouq" in 2007 that was crowned with the Golden Award from the Cairo Festival
for Arab Media. One of the most important works was "A Royal Tour - Jordan
through Royal Eyes”, a documentary featuring His Majesty King Abdullah II and
produced by the Travel Channel.

In November 2006, Tareq Al Nasser participated in a workshop in the US with the
Oscar winning musician for the years 2006 and 2007 Gustavo Santaolalla That
resulted in a joint spontaneous musical piece.

As the founder and leader of Rum Tareq Al Nasser Group established in early 1998,
Tareq Al Nasser sees Rum as “an attempt to introduce, through modern (western &
eastern) and traditional instruments and tools; the thoughts, ideas and dreams of a
youth whose spirit bathes eternally in a rich civilization and great culture”.
The group has proved its presence in the Middle East and internationally through many
participations in musical and cultural festivals around the world including Tunisia,
Morocco, Lebanon, Kuwait, Oman, Italy, France, Netherlands, Sweden and Germany.

Now, after a decade of achievement, RUM group expands with more vision and
experience in the attempt to reach the perfect musical combination.
