RTextDoc is a text editor for structural documents based on LaTeX and AsciiDoc markup languages. The editor is available under the GNU v3 license but full features are available via the JWork.ORG membership. RTextDoc is based on the RText programmer's editor but include features needed for text editing and proofreading, such as on-the-fly spelling and grammar checking. This can be used to preview documents without installation of LaTeX. However, this applies only for a very basic documents. For full LaTeX support, the actual AMS-LaTeX should be installed. AsciiDoc documents can be converted to HTML, DocBook and PDF formats. AsciiDoc in RTexDoc is powered by Asciidoctor. Compatibility RTextDoc is written in Java and runs on Linux, Mac OS X, OS/2, Unix, VMS, and Windows. History and license RTextDoc editor is based on several open-source projects, such as RText, Scavis and JLanguageTool and JabRef and complies with the GNU public license.
