The Royal Roads University Student Association represents students at Royal Roads University. They have a growing student government that maintains relations between the undergraduate student body and the school. The Social and Sports Directors on the RRUSA organize an annual weekend ski trip for the entire student population to Mount Washington. The ski trip is the social highlight for many students of their time at Royal Roads, and its stories have become infamous in local folklore. Sports directors also establish various actives throughout the year, like ice hockey, and soccer teams. Social directors will plan numerous events and parties as well. The funds of the RRUSA are distributed by the finance committee which consists of representatives from every cohort and the Executive. All expenditures need a 51% majority. This allows for the cohort class representatives to overrule the executive if it is seen that funds are not being democratically spent. Further, there is an executive election every six months to ensure efficiency.
