Royal Kerckhaert Horseshoe Factory

The Royal Kerckhaert Horseshoe Factory is a family business which is established in Vogelwaarde. Besides the office building in Vogelwaarde, Kerckhaert also have a warehouse in Hulst, a shop in Temse and a farrier shop in Strömsholm.
History
The Royal Kerckhaert Horseshoe Factory was created in 1906 by Honoré Kerckhaert and wins the first prize with his collection of hand made horseshoes at the national agricultureal show in Scheveningen.
In 1916, the first horseshoe making machine is working and the first machine made Kerckhaert horseshoes have been produced. Mr. Honorés son Piet Kerckhaert joins the company in 1938 to continue the succes of his father’s hard work. The competition was killing in 1944, but in 1950 times were changing. Because more and more farmers started to work on their land with machines, instead of horses, the demand for horseshoes falls dramatically. Only 2 of the 14 horseshoe factories in The Netherlands survive. Kerckhaert is one of them. Mr. Rudy Kerckhaert follows his father’s footsteps in 1964 and joins the company. In 1968, the demand for horseshoes exceeds the production capacity of Kerckhaert’s factory, so new investments to increase the production have to be made. De reason was the upcoming interest for horse riding.
The fourth generation of the Kerckhaert family joins the business in 1992. Michiel and Martin start to build extra production lines. They also open a new riding and farrier shop in Belgium. They travel to the “four corners of the world” and produce many new styles of shoes for new emerging markets, but it’s still a family business with Rudy overseeing the companies continuing expansion. The assortiment from the Kerckhaert Horseshoe Factory starts to grow, the complete tool range with many top brands gives an important extra value to the existing range of horseshoes.
Because of the big expension of the business Kerckhaert opens a new 5000m2 warehouse and distribution centre. They also started building brand new head offices which are ready in 2007.
In 2008 Kerckhaert becomes a Royal company.

The Royal Kerckhaert Horseshoe Factory produces many horseshoes each day. Kerckhaert has classified the horseshoes in several families. All the horseshoes are spread out over 10 families. Every family has his own colour. You can see that in the summary table on the left.

Nails and Tools
The horseshoe factory has a large, deep and broad assortment. Beside the several horseshoe families, Kerckhaert also offers several hoofnails (Maddox and Liberty) and tools. They don't only have products for the horse, but also for the personal safety of the farrier. Because of the assortment, Kerckhaert can serve a large audience.

The website from the Royal Kerckhaert Horseshoefactory is available in several langueses, because Kerckhaert serves worldwide. They want to communicate in the language of the costumer. The website is available in Dutch, Englisch, Spanisch, French, Swedisch and Portugues. Besides the information about the products and the history of the company, you can find the latest news and there's a hall of fame.
Webshop
Royal Kerckhaert Horseshoe Factory has his own webshop. This method of ordering is quicker than ordering by letter or telephone. On the webshop you can find the whole assortment. The webshop is ideal for the costumers. If they want to order someting after office hours, they can go to the webshop and create an order.
If it's the first time that costumers come to the webshop, Kerckhaert created a manuel to create an order.
