Ross Hauser, M.D., is an Oak Park, IL, physician best known for his work with Prolotherapy.
Ross Hauser is a full-time Prolotherapy physician and has authored several books about Prolotherapy. Hauser is the medical director of Caring Medical in Oak Park, IL. He inherited the position from Gustav Hemwall, who had in turn taken over the business from George S. Hackett. George S. Hackett is considered to be the founder of Prolotherapy. Ross Hauser has been practicing since 1993. He continues to pioneer in the field of Prolotherapy with his work in Stem Cell Prolotherapy. Hauser also conducted one of ten studies on bee venom as a treatment for multiple sclerosis. He continues to study not only Prolotherapy, but other forms of alternative medicine.

Ross Hauser, MD is the Medical Director and co-founder of the physician-run, comprehensive natural medicine and sports medicine clinic, Caring Medical & Rehabilitation Services in Oak Park, Illinois. Ross Hauser studied at University of Illinois, Chicago. He received his M.D. from there. He then completed his residency at Loyola-Hines VA-Marianjoy Hospitals in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and went to the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign to receive his bachelor of science. He married Marion Hauser, and together they run Caring Medical and founded the Hauser Diet.
Hauser has appeared on numerous radio and TV shows, such as The Jesse Stevens Show, KFUO, KQWC, and the Live with Jerry Rose show. Dr. Hauser also founded the Journal of Prolotherapy, a scientific journal meant to be a place for new Prolotherapy findings. Hauser is a leader in Prolotherapy research, which is necessary in order to have Prolotherapy approved for insurance companies. His current studies include a groundbreaking study on utilizing Prolotherapy as a first line treatment for meniscus tears, a study comparing Platelet Rich Plasma Prolotherapy to Hackett-Hemwall Prolotherapy, and a study on overmanipulation syndrome.
Books and Research
George S. Hackett and Gustav Hemwall originally published many books and articles in medical journals concerning the topic of Prolotherapy. However, after they stopped publishing these, there was a lull in interest in Prolotherapy. This lull continued until the late 1990’s when Ross Hauser began publishing books and articles about Prolotherapy.
