Ronanki Gopal Krishna is the third highest scoring indiviual in the Civil Services Examination for the year 2016.
Gopal Krishna Ronanki topped the exam after 11 years struggle and acheived his goal in the fourth attempt.
Background
He was born in a poor family currently residing in Parasamba village near Palasa in Srikakulam district. Ronanki Gopal Krishna is the son of Mr.Appa rao and Mrs.Rukminamma. His father is a agricultural labourer. His parents couldn't afford for corporate education. He passed his 10th grade from a telugu medium government school. Gopal Krishna pursued his intermediate in a government junior college. After this he was in need of job so as to support his livelihood, after intermediate Gopal Krishna has gone through a Teacher Training Course after the two years training course, he managed to get a second grade teacher job.and is now working as a 2nd grade teacher in Regulapadu. He graduated from the Maharajah's College in Vizianagaram with a distance education in Bachelor of science.
Reason To Choose Union Public Service Commission
As gopal is from a poor family background. Their house lacked electricity till he completed his intermediate course. After Gopal joined as a teacher in the local school at regulapadu, there the students didn’t even have a first aid. Then to help the school Gopal carried his own first aid which served the whole school. Gopal was insulted that he was unfit for upsc because of telugu medium education and distance learning. people criticized him the he wouldn’t be able to clear the upsc exam. Hence he wanted to clear the exam and to ensure the problems to be solved that were faced by him.
Preparation
He had prepared 11 years to crack the exam without the knowledge of his parents only his parents knew was their son was a teacher. As he had done schooling and intermediate course in the Telugu medium, Ronanki chose Telugu literature as his optional in the civils (mains). Interestingly, he was also allowed by UPSC to appear for the personality test in Telugu. With the help of the Telugu interpreter, He faced the interview. Dr Gopalakrishna, director of Brain Tree India coaching centre in Hyderabad, said the third ranker was a brilliant candidate from the most backward area of Andhra Pradesh. “He appeared for mock interview sessions at our institute and was very bright,” Gopalakrishna said. Gopala Krishna Ronanki (IAS) is my student, and with his success, "my dream has been fulfilled finally" she says. "I know him personally and the problems he faced as he came from a rural background," she told media. He was trained by a physically disabled women, who also cleared the same exam with a outstanding 167th rank.
