Ronald J. Del Mauro

Ronald J. Del Mauro was an American health care executive who ran Barnabas Health, New Jersey's largest integrated health care delivery system. He began working at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in 1967 and was the Vice President for Human Resources and Director of Personnel for 14 years. He became President and Chief Executive Officer in 1985, and founded Barnabas Health in 1996. He took St. Barnabas from near-bankruptcy to the flagship of the Barnabas Health, which now comprises six acute care hospitals, a behavioral health center, ambulatory care and surgery centers, two children’s hospitals, and comprehensive home care and hospice programs.
In 1971, Del Mauro was an Independent candidate for the New Jersey General Assembly, finishing sixth in a field of seven candidates for two seats. The winners were Independent Anthony Imperiale and Democrat Frank G. Megaro, who received 13,857 and 12,436 votes, respectively. Defeated were incumbent Democratic Assemblyman Paul Policastro (10,825 votes), Fiore (8,215 votes), Republican Ralph D'Ambola (7,351 votes), Del Mauro (3,323 votes), and independent Nicholas A. Ciufi II (2,729 votes).
