Romanian College of Medical Physicists

Romanian College of Medical Physicists (CFMR) is a professional association of specialists in medical physics from Romania, legally registered on March 5, 2010. The purpose of the Romanian College of Medical Physicists is to promote, support and supervise the practicing medical physicist for application of laws and regulations that organizes and regulates the exercise of the profession, representing the interests of the profession of medical physicist and keeping prestige of this profession in the social life. Romanian College of Medical Physicists, through its organs, is representative professional body of medical physicists in Romania in relations with the authorities and governmental and non-governmental and international. Romanian College of Medical Physicists (CFMR) is a full member EFOMP (European Federation of Organisations in Medical Physics) and ESTRO (European Society for Radiotherapy & Oncology) and a continuation of the professional activity of medical physics conducted by the Romanian Association of Physicists in Medicine (ARFM) which was founded 20 August 1990. In 2016 it celebrates 136 years of existence of medical physics in Romania, which was marked by the debut in 1880 of the first support being shown the medical physics course to the medicine students from Faculty of Medicine, University of Iasi by Professor John G. Stravolca physicist (found in the course curriculum of the Faculty of Medicine in Iasi, as the "Medical Physics", "Fisica Medical" or under the name "Physica Medical"). It wants a continuity of medical physics events organized over the years in Romania. Since 2015, the Romanian College of Medical Physicists (CFMR) joined the five conferences that took place in Sibiu (2010), Iasi (2011), Sibiu (2012), Felix (2013), Cluj Napoca (2015) as titled "Conference College of physicists in Medicine in Romania", with 8 events organized by the Romanian Association of Physicists in Medicine (ARFM) to Baia Mare (1992), Brasov (1993), Cluj Napoca (1994), Craiova (1995), Stone Neamt (1996), Sibiu (1997), Galati (1998), Bucharest (1999), as' conference of physicists in Medicine "that they will bear the name "NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF MEDICAL PHYSICS".
