Rohit Bhargava

Rohit Bhargava is an author, marketing leader and the founder of the Non-Obvious Company. He is known for creating the term Social Media Optimization. Bhargava previously held leadership roles at global marketing agencies, Ogilvy and Leo Burnett. In addition, he serves as Adjunct Professor of Marketing, Public Speaking, and Storytelling at Georgetown University and has given two TEDx talks.
Books
Bhargava is also known for his annually-released, “Non-Obvious Trend Report” which has a reach of over one million readers. In 2008, Bhargava published his first book Personality Not Included with McGraw-Hill. In 2012, he published Likeonomics and followed it up in 2015 when he released a book based on his report, Non-Obvious: How to Think Different, Curate Ideas & Predict The Future, which was ranked #1 marketing book on Amazon and made it to #8 non-fiction book on the Wall Street Journal’s book rankings. Bhargava’s ideas have been featured in publications such as the New York Times and Fast Company.
Personal life
Rohit graduated from Emory University in 1997 with a BA in English Literature. He also holds a Masters In English from George Mason University. Bhargava lives in Washington, DC with his wife and two sons.
