Robotic engineer

Robotics engineers design robots, develop new applications for them, and conduct research to expand the potential of robotics.Robotics engineers can work designing experimental mobile robots, with applications ranging from medical and military uses to designs aimed at creating vehicles capable of piloting themselves on other planets.Robotics is the application of mechatronics to create robots, which perform tasks that are dangerous, unpleasant, or repetitive. These robots may be of any shape and size, but all are preprogrammed and interact physically with the world. To create a robot, a robotic engineer typically employs kinematics (to determine the robot's range of motion) and mechanics (to determine the stresses within the robot).Robots are used extensively in Industrial engineering. They allow businesses to save money on labor and perform tasks that are either too dangerous or too precise for humans to perform them economically. Many companies employ assembly lines of robots, and some factories are so robotized that they can run by themselves. Outside the factory, robots have been employed in bomb disposal, space exploration, and many other fields.Honda's engineers spent about 10 million dollars building and designing ASIMO, a humanoid, anthropomorphic, robot much like KITT.Robotic engineers today are the geeky kids in your class who started building robotic arms in their garage at he age of 11.To become a robotic engineer you need a Bachelor of science in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or software) and classes in artificial intelligence or robotic design.
