Robert T. Rhode

Robert T. Rhode is "one of the world’s experts on steam tractor history," as stated on the dust jacket of The Steam Tractor Encyclopedia that he and John F. Spalding wrote. An author and professor of early American literature, Rhode is also an expert on traditional grammar and standard usage. Rhode was born in Pine Village, Indiana, and today lives outside of Springboro, Ohio. As recorded in the 2003 General Assembly Minutes of the Road Roller Association, based in England, Rhode and Judge Raymond L. Drake won the Silver Jubilee Certificate, awarded by the Road Roller Association “for furthering the understanding of steamrollers by publishing the book on classic American steamrollers.”

As reported on page 3 of Discover, Volume 3 (2010), Rhode is the author of 184 articles, which have appeared in a variety of publications, including Engineers and Engines Magazine, The Iron-Men Album Magazine, Old Glory, Steaming, and Steam Traction.
