Robert Lutczyk

Robert Lutczyk is a former municipal politician from Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, who was elected to the position of Regional and City Councillor in Oshawa's Ward 2 district, in 2006. He sat on the Development Services Committee, as well as the Audit, Budget, and Corporate Services Committee for the City of Oshawa during his time in office.
Severance package controversy
When Lutczyk left city council, he was awarded a severance package worth $27,987 CAD. His severance package, along with that of his outgoing colleagues from city council, totalled approximately $300,000 CAD. The large payouts sparked controversy among Oshawa constituents, as such amounts were not properly budgeted for in advance. Criticism emerged, even from the incoming mayor John Henry, about whether or not city councillors deserved such hefty severance cheques, due to the contract-based nature of their work with the City of Oshawa.
Alleged abduction of city solicitor
On October 16, 2012, Lutczyk allegedly kidnapped Oshawa city solicitor David Potts from his home shortly after a city council meeting.
