River Clarke

River Clarke (born c. 2001) is a Western Australian electoral candidate.
History
Clarke first ran for candidacy at age 19 in the 2021 Western Australian state election, where they ran for the seat of Cannington as that electorate's Greens candidate. They came third in the electorate, with 6.3% of the primary vote. A year later, they began running for a seat representing WA in the Senate at the 2022 Australian federal election.
Politics
Clarke is a member of the Australian Greens, aligning with many of their policies and goals, such as that of combating climate change, and expanding Medicare to include mental health.
Personal life
Clarke is openly queer and non-binary, and goes by they/them pronouns. Clarke states that they spent their early life growing up in Fremantle and along the south coast, before moving into the city just before the COVID-19 pandemic.<ref name":0" /> The Australian Electoral Commission website lists their current occupation as "Student".<ref name":1" />
