Rishloo

Rishloo is an independent Seattle based progressive rock band which formed in late 2002. The band is highly influenced by artists such as Tool, A Perfect Circle, David Bowie, and Tori Amos, as is evident on their earlier material. The group is also influenced by such bands as Deftones, Elton John, The Beatles, The Mars Volta, System of a Down, Dredg, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin.. Since it's inception, the band's line-up included vocalist Andrew Mailloux, bassist Sean Rydquist, and guitarist Dave Gillet. The current drummer is Jesse Smith, who replaced previous drummer Tyler sometime after the band began.
History
Since the group's inception, all of their material has been released independently. Their debut album, Terras Fames, was released in 2004, to positive reception. This release was followed by Eidolon in 2007, which was also received in a positive light.
Continuing as an entirely independent group, Rishloo have sold over 3,500 copies of their debut album, Terras Fames and over 4,500 copies of their second album, Eidolon, attracting thousands of fans online from around the globe. Interest in the band continues to grow on sites such as Reverb Nation, MySpace and Last.FM, where Rishloo has become one of the largest and fastest growing independent groups. With regards to Last.FM, there has been more than a five-fold increase in plays in recent times, jumping from 60,000 to over 320,000. An average of over 1,500 plays are added on a daily basis.
The band is currently working on their third album, Feathergun, to be released in Summer 2009.
Promotion
In order to promote themselves, Rishloo has played numerous gigs while touring across North America. As of June 2009, the band has played alongside others such as Judas Priest, Fair to Midland, Papa Roach, Sevendust, Ashes Divide, Trapt Strata, and Cold.
