Righteous Cowards

Righteous Cowards is an independent short film directed by Klay Buckingham. It was shot throughout Adelaide, South Australia. Righteous Cowards is a heist film and often ironically called all-white cast Blaxploitation film. It's otfen associated to the works of Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese, Buckingham himself says that it is a slight Homage to directors of their likes. It depicts the events of a team of 5 men and 1 female working on a Gold heist in different roles. Righteous Cowards stars an ensemble cast in which Klay has a minor role, as does Thomas Dazoxa. It incorporates many themes that are now consider common for Buckingham films, including: violent crime, pop culture references, profuse profanity, and a somewhat nonlinear storyline to enhance particular things.

Production
It may be called a slight "failure". This is due to the actors working for nothing and often decided not to show up on shooting days. However Buckingham was very good at using these disadvantages to his advantage by using the idea of the "Non-linear" storytelling to his advantage. The film seemed to work better this way. It made it seem like parts were missing on purpose. Often, this was the case. But sometimes, a good coincidence. The production of this film helped Buckingham really understand how a proper film was made.
