Ridgecrest Intermediate School (RIS) is one of three public middle schools in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District (PVPUSD) (The other two being Palos Verdes Intermediate School and Miraleste Intermediate School) The school originally opened in 1965 and operated until 1991, when it was closed due to declining enrollment in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District. With increasing enrollment, the school re-opened in 2000. They feature the only live middle school broadcast journalism program in the district, "Ridgecrest News Network" Also known as "RNN". Other school publications include a student produced monthly newspaper. |
