Husky News Network

Husky News Network, or simply HNN, is the daily five minute television program produced live each weekday morning by Mt. Hope High School students. It is notable due to its status as one of the best live television productions produced by high school students on a daily basis in Rhode Island as well as being formatted into an academic class for the 2010-2011 school year. It is currently in its seventh season of broadcast.
History
HNN first went on the air in the year 2004 when it was conceived by then Junior, Evan Patton. Initially, the show was operated using just a single camera in the then, AV Room. However, with its brand reformation in the summer of 2008 it began operating with three cameras, as well as full HNN specials throughout the year. In 2008, also lived the short-lived HNN Headline News which consisted of news presented in a different light as well as student work demonstrated 24/7. In late 2009, HNN moved its studios to a bigger space located on the first floor of Mt. Hope High School, in a space once occupied by the School Store.
Segments
The show consists of Mt. Hope High School's daily news and sports, which is usually presented by two television news anchor, the news segment is the heart of the broadcast. It consists of announcements from school officials delivered daily to the television studio via the school's website. Colleges touring the school that day, and special sales going on in the school's official merchandise store. Following the announcements is the sports segment. The sports segment consists of that day's sporting events as well as scores from the previous day's sporting events.
In addition to these main segments depending on time constraints are usually field with interview, field reports, and announcements from various student organizations. As of 2008 began HNN Specials such as The Advisory Bowl, The Best of HNN, College Fair information, as well as other topical specials as requested by school officials.
