She was born in Manhattan, and attended the Trinity School and the Dalton School. She went on to major in cognitive neuroscience at Harvard University. She has primarily worked in television (ER, Strong Medicine, Law & Order), but also works as an editor and journalist. She dated actor Jason London (Dazed and Confused) and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia co-creator Rob McElhenney. She played in the pilot of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, before being replaced by Kaitlin Olsen. She appeared in the Paramount Pictures production Black Book and most recently appeared in the Neil Labute-produced "The Vicious Kind." She is married to Kendrick Strauch, the keyboardist in the acclaimed Brooklyn-based band, The Harlem Shakes.
