Ricky Powell is a photographer known for his depiction of "the 1980s hip-hop and party scene". He has been host of the public access show, Rappin' with the Rickster. He has a column in Mass Appeal titled "Ricky Powell is... the Doloist". He was named "the Weegee of hiphop" by Fab 5 Freddy and is reflected in the Beastie Boys song, Car Thief.
