Richard Perez (actor)

Richard Perez is an American professional actor, theatre administrator, and director who is currently an assistant professor in theater at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. He teaches Acting, Directing, American Theatre History, Audition Techniques, Theatre 101, First Year Seminar, Musical Theatre Workshop and Playwriting. He is a steering committee member of the Latinx Theatre Commons, and is thus an advocate for an increase of diversity within theater, particularly regarding the inclusion of Latinx individuals into roles and stories.
Projects
Perez has directed numerous plays throughout the 2000s. Among the most recent, these include Water and Power (Urban Theater Company, 2017), The Invasion of Skokie (Chicago Dramatists, 2010) and Don Coyote (Arizona State University, 2009).
He has also occupied other roles for plays done by Hope College. This includes serving as an actor for the play Stage Door.
He has served as an actor on other professional ventures, including on television and film. Some of these include playing the character Pundit in Amazon's Electric Dreams. He has also played different characters on NBC's Chicago Fire and Chicago Med series, playing Jose and Bob respectively. He also has a recurring role as Alderman Ortiz in the Starz series Boss.<ref name":1" /><ref name":0" />
