Reservoir Media Management is a New York City based boutique music publisher which publishes multi-genre music, concentrating on hits. The company was founded in 2007 after acquiring the music catalogs of John Rich, , Vicky McGehee, and Bruce Roberts. In 2011 Reservoir entered into an exclusive publishing agreement with Nate “Danjahandz” Hills, who has written and produced for several top pop and R&B artists, including Britney Spears, Chris Brown, Nelly Furtado, M.I.A., Jennifer Lopez, and Keri Hilson. The company continued its growth throughout 2012 with the additions of the Black Fountain Music and Blackground catalogs, which include songs performed by Aaliyah, Lil Wayne, Timbaland, and JoJo. Reservoir then acquired Reverb Music, whose compositions include "Cruel Summer" by Bananarama, "Gotta Get Thru This" by Daniel Bedingfield, "Stop The Rock" by Apollo 440, "Man Down" by Rihanna, and the theme song to the internationally aired television series, The X Factor. The same year, the company signed rapper 2 Chainz and singer-songwriter-producer Slakah The Beatchild. Reservoir had over 75 #1 singles worldwide recorded by 50 Cent, 2 Chainz, Aaliyah, Beyoncé, Donna Summer, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, and Usher, and others. The company acquires new catalogs and signs and develops creative talent. Golnar Khosrowshahi was the president of Reservoir. In February 2014, Reservoir acquired First State Media Group from BMG Rights Management, including the rights to DreamWorks, Wind-Up Records, Dimension Films, Martha Davis and The Motels, and Sheryl Crow. As part of the deal, BMG will continue to sub-publish these songs outside of North America. In November 2015, Reservoir acquired the catalogue of the American southern rock band Molly Hatchet.
