Reni Lane

Reni Lane (born Reni Elaine Jablonsky on January 10, 1988, previously known as Reni Laine) is a singer/songwriter currently residing in New York City. Previously a student at Columbia University in the class of 2010, she first gained notoriety for her viral music video "Frontiers of Science" which became an overnight Ivy League hit and target of hostility on Columbia's gossip rag The Bwog.
She is a vocalist and pianist whose music has been compared to Sarah McLachlan, Fiona Apple, and Snow Patrol. She was discovered at the age of 16 by rock producer David Pattillo who mixed, produced, and recorded her debut album at his studio Flow NY. In March of 2008 she was discovered by Linda Perry and subsequently signed to Custard Records/Universal Motown. Since then she has been a featured musical artist in numerous publications such as Nylon Magazine and garnered muse status to famous rock photographers Mick Rock and former Led Zepplin publicist BP Fallon. She is currently recording her second album / major label debut in New York with David Pattillo, NYC songwriter Sam Bisbee, and critically acclaimed Peter Gabriel protege Joseph Arthur. She is also a member of the East Village band The Rabbit starring singer/songwriter David Poe.
