Relationships in Arab tradition

Arab tradition regarding relationships and marriage is not written. It is transmitted from generation to generation usually orally or by practice.
In Arab tradition, it's not considered taboo for Muslim men to marry Christians or Jews, while for a woman to marry outside her community is difficult, simply because most fathers do not want their daughters married to "strangers". If an Arab woman were to be married, she is more likely to be married to someone who is known to her family intimately for several generations or someone known to or recommended by them. Giving a daughter to a community with "foreign ways" would be outside their comfort zone let alone an individual from a different ethic and religious group.
