Rehaan Engineer

Rehaan Engineer is an actor and theatre personality and a very known face in Mumbai and in Delhi for his acting . His most notable work in cinema was his debut English film ' as Xen. He has also acted in the critically acclaimed film Page 3 as Abhijeet Patnaik.
Personal life
Engineer was born in Nainital, Uttarakhand, India. He was a student of St. Xavier's College before joining the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Currently He is staying in New Delhi(East Of Kailash). Most of the time he will be busy with books and painting.
Theatre and films
Engineer is a critically acclaimed actor and a well-known theatre personality. He has worked in popular as well indie films. His debut in cinema was in the critically acclaimed magical-realism film ' as the protagonist, Xen. He was called a "fascinating enigma" by critic Noah Cowan at the Toronto International Film Festival where it was released. For his role, Engineer actually learnt to cut hair from a salon in Mumbai. In one of his interviews with Rediff, he stated that, coming from a theatre background, he found the idea of talking to a camera very uneasy.
He has also acted in the critically acclaimed Madhur Bhandarkar film Page 3 as Abhijeet Patnaik. He also played the role of Steve O'Brien in Bas Ek Pal directed by Onir.
Engineer has acted and directed many plays in theatres across India. He directed Molly Sweeney by Irish playwright Brian Friel and Judgment by Barry Collins. He is active in theatre at National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai as well his own theatre group, The Industrial Theatre Co. He starred in the Marquis de Sade in the Singapore production of Quills.
Other work
At his theatre group, The Industrial Theatre Co., Engineer has been working on what he refers to as a video project called JIAN. He defines his work as, "JIAN , a video project by Rehaan Engineer, is an open-ended ongoing video work, consisting of an indefinite number of short films linked by a set of recurring characters, and intended for simultaneous viewing in a gallery space."
