Redroad FM

Redroad is a community youth radio station covering South Rotherham, England. It specialises in broadcasting local information, and covering issues relating to young people, branding itself with music that fits the lifestyle of young people. Its studios are based at The Old Colliery Offices in Kiveton Park.
On-Air
After being on air in March 2007, Redroad FM then broadcast from Monday 15 October to Sunday 11 November 2007, this covered the schools half term holiday and involved lots of organisations and individuals. They also went out from Monday 3 March to Sunday 30 March 2008 as an RSL on 87.7FM.
5 Year licence
In late 2007 Redroad FM was awarded a 5 year radio licence by broadcast regulator OFCOM. The team of volunteers started to apply for funding to launch the station. The initial launch date of November 2009 was moved back to March 2010.
102.4 FM
After they were allocated their frequency, the directors chose to re-launch with a new name of just Redroad and test transmissions started on Monday 15 March 2010. The new studio was also set-up in Kiveton Park. By Monday the 22nd of March the team started preparations for the new shows. Twitter accounts began to appear for the new shows, such as @Redroadbrandnew, and the generic @Redroad1024FM. The station launched on Saturday 27 March 2010 at midday. After the first broadcast a phone was put in the Redroad studio so listeners can text in after that an email account was set up so listeners can email in, finally a Facebook group was set up so listeners can get in touch via Facebook.

Weekday regulars
Aaron Outram is the current Redroad Breakfast Show presenter, Aaron embarked on a 27 hour live radio marathon on March the 27th 2015 to raise funds for the Redroad FM Help Chloe appeal.
Gaz Shanks' lunchtime show was a regular show on Redroad every weekday between 12 noon − 2 pm. The show is expected to return to the air 5 days a week in 2015. Big Stu's 70's & 80's Show is on air every Monday 7-9pm Tuesday Drive is presented by Phil & Chris with the best mix of Indie/Rock & Brit Pop.
The DRAG Radio Show presented by Presley (Gary Numan, The Corporation, KIK) and D'lear (KIK) is live every Wednesday evening from 9pm.
May 2013 saw Lee Barber join the Redroad team after a year long period at Sine FM.
