Red 3 Rummy

>
Advanced Rummy is a variation of Rummy for two or more players. It is played with one standard deck of cards per player, including the jokers. The jokers and twos are wild.
————————————————————————
Description:
Each player is dealt two hands of seven cards each. The first hand is played and second hand is kept unviewed until the first hand is played out.
Left over cards after dealing are used as the stock pile.
Two cards from the stock pile are turned over to create the discard pile and start the game.
The player that goes first rotates to start each round.
During each hand, the object is to complete books of runs and kinds, and lay down as many cards as possible.
When each player lays down all of their cards in the first hand, the second unviewed hand is then played.
When the first player finishes laying down all cards in the second hand, the round is completed and the cards remaining in the rest of the player’s hands are scored as penalty points.
The player with the most points wins.

Rules of Play:
Books
As in most rummy games, books consist of either sets of equal cards, or runs of consecutive cards.
Wild cards may be substituted for any card in a set or run.
Only one Wild card per book.
Equal cards - for example: three threes or five queens. In this variation, equal cards may contain two cards of the same suit; i.e., two 9 of hearts.
Runs A run consists of cards in a sequence. The cards do have to be in the same suit, such as 2-3-4-5 of hearts. Aces can be high (J-Q-K-A) or low (A-2-3-4).
Wild cards
Twos and jokers are wild and can be used to represent any desired card / suit.

Drawing
There are two options: discard pile - face up, and stock card pile - face down.
1. If you want the cards in the discard pile, you get all of the cards in the pile. (see Red 3 note below)
2. If you do not want the entire discard pile, take a single face down card from the top of the undealt stock cards.
Once you choose either the discard pile, or a single card from the stock pile, you have the option to lay down books.** Once you are finished laying down books, you select a single card from your hand and place it on the discard pile and it is the next players turn. You can only lay down books while it is your turn, before you discard.
** There is a restriction for laying down books. You must have a total of 70 points in books before you can lay your first books down.

Once cards are played in books, you can add like cards to equal books, or the next card, either higher or lower, in a sequence book.
You cannot remove cards from a laid down book.
A catch to this game is the Red 3 cards. All heart and diamond three’s count as negative points. You cannot make books of Red 3’s.

Scoring
As soon as the first player goes out, the hands are scored. All players count the value of their books that have been laid down as positive points.
The opponents count as negative points the total value of the cards remaining in their hand(s) and deduct the negative points from their laid down books positive points.
The value of the individual cards is a follows:
Cards Point Value
Each 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 are worth +5 points in equal books
Each 10, J, Q, K are worth +10 in equal books
Each Ace is worth +15 in equal books
Each 2, Joker are worth +15
Each Card in a Sequence is worth +15
Red Three(s) are penalized at -30 per card
(Red 3’s are -30 points, Black 3’s count as +5 points in equal books)
(All cards in a sequence count as 15 points regardless of face value)
Each players point value of their hand is added to their running total.
Number of rounds played can vary as determined by the players.
The player with the highest point value wins.
