Rebecca Javeleau (born October 7, 1995) is a British teenager and pupil at Sir John Lawes School and she is primarily known for creating an event, named "myy birthdayy partyy", on the social networking website Facebook to invite friends to her fifteenth birthday party. As Javeleau accidentally made the event public, and thus available for anyone with a Facebook account, the party eventually gained over 21,000 attending guests. Javeleau subsequently removed the event, but the group was recreated, where it gained a further 8,000 guests. The party received significant publicity, including coverage from BBC News and many major newspapers and news websites. Facebook received substantial criticism following the occurrences, and several news websites picked up on the event as an example of security flaws within Facebook.
