The RAP4 paintball carbine is the only nearly-perfect functional replica of the Colt M4A1 assault rifle made. The marker is designed to replicate the feel, the look, and the operation of an M4. Players can use this marker for a mil-sim game of paintball, while the United States Army uses it for training. The RAP4 is identical to the legendary M4 rifle used by SWAT Teams and the U.S. Military. The RAP4 automatically ejects the shells in rapid-fire succession just like a real M4 rifle. There are two types of ammunition: metal-shelled and plastic-shelled (for environment protection the plastic shells are biodegradable). Although the RAP4 is an automatic paintball marker, it only uses 1.5 joules of energy to launch a 0.029 oz. projectile a distance of 33 meters. With this power, the RAP4 can be fired 50 times with only 0.4 oz of CO2 the main power plant CO2 cylinder is hidden inside the butt stock.

Ammunition The RAP4 uses either .43 or .40-caliber paintballs. The paintballs are loaded into either aluminum, or plastic shells. Carbon Dioxide or Nitrogen is used to propell the paintball and then eject the empty shell.
Loading The RAP4 loads through an M4/M16 style magazine which is inserted into a magazine dock just before the handgrip on the bottom of the receiver. The magazine spring is wound down with a dial on the side of the magazine. Shells containing paintballs are then inserted into the magazine. When the magazine is inserted into the receiver, the shells are released. The rifle is then cocked with an M4 style charging handle.
Firing/Firing Modes The RAP4 fires just like an ordinary rifle. Once the rifle is cocked, the trigger can be pulled at any time--except with the METS version, which locks the trigger when empty--to fire the marker.
The RAP4 has two firing modes, as well as a safety mode. The rifle is switched between safe, semi-automatic and fully automatic modes with a switch right above the trigger guard.
Carbon Dioxide/Nitrogen A CO2 or Nitrogen tank is loaded into the buttstock of the rifle. There is an optional flexi-air system or a remote-line adapter. The air tanks that go in the stock have a twist on/off valve at the back, eliminating the nipple valve.
The marker uses 0.008oz of Carbon Dioxide or 0.00875oz of Nitrogen per shot. Therefore, the marker gets about 200 shots per 45 gram tank with Carbon Dioxide, or about 190 shots per 45 gram tank with Nitrogen.
