CA M24 SOCOM

The CA M24 SOCOM is a type of airsoft rifle. Both the Military and Civilian versions of this gun are cosmetically modelled on the U.S. Army's M24 Sniper Weapon System. They are both spring powered, bolt action rifles, although they may be modified to operate by gas.
In stock form, the rifle has a muzzle velocity (90 m/s) comparable to most other lower grade or stock AEG's and spring weapons, and as such does not provide a viable sniping platform without being upgraded to higher muzzle energies. Many players upgrade to a point where the rifle will fire a standard 0.20g bb pellet at around 500 feet/second; or higher dependending on national legislation regarding air weapons/replica firearms.
Increasing the weapons range is generally achieved by installing high tension springs or gas propelled cylinders. To help mitigating the increased structural and mechanical demands of such upgrades, many aftermarket parts are also made. To increase precision and velocity the use of tightbore inner barrels in dimension 6.00-6.04mm is also very common. Because of its high power in upgraded form the gun is frequently seen used with heavy weight pellets of up to .43g.
The m24 is usually equipped with a replica M3 telescopic sight for long-range combat.
