Randy M. Grossman

Randy Michael Grossman (born September 12 1962) is a noted MLB sports agent and American criminal defense attorney best known for his representation of baseball Hall-of-Famer Dave Winfield, Tim Raines, Steve Garvey, Kevin McReynolds and Vince Coleman. He is a notable alumnus of the Thomas Jefferson School of Law where he also serves as an adjunct professor.

Background
Grossman was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved to San Diego when he was two years old. He met Dave Winfield in 1973 when his father took him to see the San Diego Padres play. Winfield encouraged the young Grossman to pursue a career in law. Winfield and Grossman developed a life-long friendship, and it was Winfield who wrote Grossman's letter of recommendation for law school. Grossman has represented Winfield since 2000.

Although Grossman successfully combined his legal background with his love of sports, he is also a successful criminal defense attorney who has won several high-profile cases in the San Diego area.

Legal commentary
Grossman is occasionally called upon to speak about legal matters in sports -- most recently steroid use in baseball. He has appeared on ESPN and in several national newspapers, including the New York Times and the Minneapolis Star Tribune, both as guest and legal commentator.
