Rajneeti ("Politics" in Hindi) is an up and coming Indian Bollywood film. it will be directed by Prakash Jha and will be starring Nana Patekar, Ajay Devgan and Shahid Kapoor. Shooting for the film will begin at the end of January, 2007, and will be predominantly shot in the Indian city of Jamshedpur. Premise Media outlets report that the theme of the motion picture will be a critique of politics in India. Prakash Jha said that this film would be based on "his understanding of democracy in the country", and the often chaotic nature of state assemblies and the Parliament of India. Jha wishes to portray the "downfall of democracy in India", which he says began since India's independence from the British Empire in 1947. He wishes to portray that the Indian democracy "functions like a feudal system". |
