Rajesh Mahapatra

Rajesh Mahapatra is an Indian public policy expert. He has been the Chief Content Officer, Executive Editor and Editor at Large at The Hindustan Times at various points stretching across 11 years.
After leaving The Hindustan Times, Mahapatra has started Odisha Alochana Chakra, a forum for discussing public policies pertaining to the state of Odisha in India.
Career
He was the business writer in India for the Associated Press prior to joining The Hindustan Times.
Mahapatra left the Hindustan Times (HT) shortly after editor-in-chief Bobby Ghosh returned to the US citing personal reasons after the controversy surrounding the Hate Tracker project initiated by Ghosh. Sukumar Ranganathan was brought in to replace Ghosh as the editor-in-chief. Mahapatra was the editor-at-large at HT when Ghosh left.
Mahapatra has been a panelist on discussions on politics and economics on BloombergQuint, Rajya Sabha TV, and Odisha TV.
