Rajan Navani is an Indian entrepreneur. He is the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Indian arm of the Jetline Group of Companies with interests in packaging manufacturing, IT services, and digital media; the latter of which involves digital entertainment and consumer product development via his company JetSynthesys. Early Life and Education Navani was born in Bangkok, Thailand and raised in Pune, India. He has a younger brother named Rakesh Navani. Navani’s grandfather Kishinchand Navani founded the Navani family's textile business in Bangkok in 1937. His father Ramesh Navani expanded the business by commencing its packaging manufacturing operations in India in 1975. Rajan Navani was ranked 8th in sciences for the state of Maharashtra's Higher Secondary Certificate Examination. He received his Bachelors of Electronics and Telecommunications at the University of Pune’s College of Engineering. He later gained a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University where he received a prize for outstanding academic achievement. He completed his thesis in Digital Satellite Image Processing and Remote Sensing. Career Navani worked with NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Centre in Maryland. He later returned to Thailand and India to work for his family's businesses. Navani was initially responsible for the India oriented strategy for Jetline's group companies. In September 2014, Navani formed JetSynthesys, the tech and digital vertical of the Jetline Group. In June 2015, JetSynthesys acquired the mobile gaming company Xerces Techologies. The company also formed Wakau, an exclusive celebrity-centric mobile video content platform. Celebrities featured on the platform include Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan and Arjun Kapoor. Wakau is a joint venture with Peter Chernin’s CA Media. In addition they house a big data division called DataLytiX, a digital advertising platform called DigiAdz, a music and personalized celebrity name tone platform through MereeDhun and an on demand economy focused innovation product division, JetLabs. In April 2015, Infosys’ founder and former co-chairman Kris Gopalakrishnan was named the Non-Executive Chairman of Navani’s company JetSynthesys. He participated in the Singapore-India strategic track II dialogues in 2014 and 2015 and the Israel-India Track II strategic dialogue in 2012. Navani continues to play a role in helping shaping the US-India partnership from a government and business standpoint. He is actively associated with various other business and social organizations in India and Thailand. Personal life Rajan is married to Sheetal Navani had has two daughters named Ilina and Arusha.
