R. Narasimha

R. Narasimha (23 February 1949 - 11 October 2011) was a journalist and Congress Party activist. He was instrumental in revolutionizing the Kannada language film newspaper industry and is also credited to have created many firsts in Kannada-language newspapers and magazines.
R. Narasimha was the eldest son of Kalyani and Ramaiah. He finished his Bachelor of Science degree from Bangalore University. He also finished another degree in journalism from Central College of Bangalore. After completion of his degree in journalism he became a journalist for Samyukta Karnataka.
While in Hubli he was assigned the task of revamping Karmaveera. After Karmaveera was closed he moved to Bangalore and started working for a Kannada movie newspaper Chitradeepa and set up a team of budding talent in the field of journalism.
He became an entrepreneur when he started the newspaper Chitratara. He continued to try out different techniques in his newspaper.
Narasimha, was not just an avid reader and writer but was an actor. He acted in many drama and even acted in a movie Sanchari.
He was a Congress Party man from his college days and he continued this association and started working with Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee as the computer section in charge. In this role he would write articles and speeches for publication.

Political activity
* Started in Congress Sevadal while in school and worked as Volunteer in the AICC session of 1964 held in Bangalore.
* Served as the Office Secretary of the State Youth Congress Committee when D.B.Chandre Gowda was the President.
* Continued to be an active Congress member.
* Assisted many leaders in their election and publicity work and media relations.
