Quaboag Hills Chamber of Commerce

The Quaboag Hills Chamber of Commerce is the local chamber of commerce for the Quaboag Hills region of Massachusetts. The chamber represents the business needs of over 260 businesses and thousands of employees in Hampden County and Worcester County.
Mission statement
The mission of the Quaboag Hills Chamber of Commerce is "o be an advocate for economic growth in the region through the development, promotion and advancement of business and to be the leading advocate for business and community development in the Quaboag Hills Region by providing members with a voice in political, social and economical issues."

Chamber model
The Quaboag Hills Chamber of Commerce is an organization fully supported by their membership and the chamber is not government supported or funded. The chamber also has an outlook which supports tourism for the entire Quaboag Hills region. The chamber's members and Board of Directors show support for organizations and businesses who cater to visitors and residents with entertainment, dining experiences, and special events.
Quaboag Hills Community Connection campaign
In October 2013 the Quaboag Hills Chamber of Commerce launched a Community Connection Campaign to help it's local business connect and grow their business through social media. The Chamber launched a partnership with Venly, a Cambridge-based initiative that partners with Chambers to help local business grow, create jobs, and strengthen the community. In working with Venly the Chamber has been using recent college graduates to provide in-person services to their members on the major social media channels.

There are many benefits that businesses can access once they become members. They are in the areas of relationship development and networking, educational support, business exposure and advertising, programs and events, legislative support and advocacy, and resources.
Events
Brimfield Outdoor Antique Shows
The most famous event of the Chamber is the Brimfield Outdoor Antique Shows, which they have been hosting since 1959. Antique dealers set up shows in tents, pavilions and buildings along a one-mile stretch of U.S. Route 20. There are three show dates though the year that last six days each, in May, July and September. The show regularly hosts more the 6,000 dealers and attracts more than 130,000 visitors each year.
QHCC Annual Golf Tournament
The Quaboag Hills Chamber of Commerce hosts a yearly golf tournament in late September. Registration is open to all Chamber members, and the tournament winners are displayed on the Chamber website. (source: Chamber website events page)
Annual Awards Dinner
The Chamber hosts an annual dinner where members of the community are recognized for their activities and service. Awards include the Citizen of the Year Award, the Business of the Year Award, the Volunteer of the Year Award, the Teacher of the Year Award, and the Long Term Service Award. Awards come with a cash prize for the recipient; candidates are nominated for awards by other community members, who are invited to write letters of support for nominees.
