Puneet Singh Banga was born on 20 February at Patiala, Punjab, India. He is a believer of Sikhism and holds Indian citizenship. He completed his education at Our Lady of Fatima Convent High School, and Budha Dal Public School. After that, he enrolled himself at Chitkara University where he completed his graduate course on Electrical Engineering.
Career
Patiala Help Club Punjab is one of social help groups on Facebook which aims at creating city help via building peer-to-peer connections. Banga started this initiative in 2014, with the sole purpose of directing people who can offer help to the people who need help. He decided to use it for commercial promotions as well. This group has been more than a mere platform to connect people of Patiala. It is ray of hope to bring about social change in Patiala. Many members from Patiala administration are also part of the group, bringing excellence in public service delivery and redressing grievances of citizens raised on this public forum in a meaning manner by effectively coordinating with different departments and trying to eliminate causes of grievances. This group also attempts to address social, cultural and environmental problems and aims to work for betterment of society.
Creation of the Patiala Help Club Punjab
Banga became an entrepreneur, considering the idea after graduation. He created a Facebook page dedicated to Gurudwara Dukhnivaran Sahib, a Sikh building in Patiala. This page made online viewing of the building a reality, on which he made regular daily uploads. The page acquired great response in an instant, giving him the idea of bringing out the people of Patiala for social and animal welfare; he founded Patiala Help Club Punjab which was also used for commercial and business promotions apart from being a help group. Being a regular visitor to Gurudwara Sahib, he clicked and shared pictures of the holy place on WhatsApp regularly. The notion behind the page was to promote Gurudwara Dukhnivaran Sahib in India as well as abroad and to let as many as people pay obeisance at the much-revered shrine via social media who were either living abroad or tied up with their schedules. This page helped people to pay their tributes to the Gurudwara. With more than 91,000 people following page it is fast growing.
Animal Rights
He is an animal rights activist and endeavours to create awareness among people about animal exploitation and abuse issues. Currently he has taken full-fledged responsibility of feeding and medications of street dogs in his town. He and his group of social workers and animal rights activist directs to stimulate social change.
