Pub Politics is a web-based political show from a local bar where democrat Phil Bailey and republican Wesley Donehue talk with featured guests about South Carolina and national politics. Controversy What would have been the June 3rd 2010 episode would have featured State Sen. Jake Knotts and Boyd Brown. The episode has not been broadcast as of yet. In that episode, with apparently no reaction from the hosts or other guests such as Boyd Brown, Knotts called South Carolina Republican Gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley a "fucking raghead", and also stated that "e already got one raghead in the White House, we don’t need a raghead in the governor's mansion." After Knotts remarks, which he defended as being openly racist, many state GOP leaders attacked Knotts, with some calling for his resignation and others calling for his expulsion. Knotts has not been censured or expelled by the South Carolina GOP. |
