Project Mimesis

Project Mimesis was a content distribution application created by Ramzi, AngryCamel and CLuis that runs on a modified Xbox games console. Similar to the official Xbox Live service, Mimesis allowed users to download and install modded game content, such as maps and models, from several download servers.
Mimesis was an unofficial project, and is not recommended for use in conjunction with Xbox Live. It was written entirely in C++ and built with the Microsoft Xbox Development Kit. The project's mascot is an orange and green praying mantis.
The Mimesis development team released the latest and last version, dubbed "Mimesis v3" which gave users access to new features and vastly improves in terms of design and new features.

The name
Not too many people seem to be able to grasp the proper pronunciation of the word Mimesis. A few of the common mispronunciations are:
* mem·eh·sis
* mim·eh·sis
* mime·sis
The proper pronunciation is mi·me·sis. The term comes from Latin and means to copy or replicate. This is a reference to the project's goal of replicating the quality and ease of use of the Xbox Live service's distribution of downloadable content. As a result, the original orange and green color scheme and mascot were born as well, with their colors capable of subconsciously connecting the project with the quality of the Xbox Live service.
