Graphic chipsets with pixel shader support While the ATI Radeon 7xxx series and NVIDIA GeForce2/GeForce4 MX series do have somewhat programmable pixel pipelines, they are not flexible enough to run shader programs of level 1.0. Solution for unsupported cards
As of 2007, there are still a large number of GeForce 4 MX users. Software tweaks, such as SwiftShader, swShader and 3D-analyze, can sometimes be used as a workaround for games requiring pixel shaders. However, this often renders games unplayable. Forcing such games to run on unsupported cards usually results in unrendered textures and lighting, as well as poor performance. Additionally, many online anti-cheat systems (such as Punkbuster) perform file and memory scans to ensure that game files have not been modified. As a result, those who attempt to play online using such workarounds may be unable to play, and in a worst case scenario, may in fact have their account/CD-key banned.

To all of you guys who are in a tough budget and can't afford to buy another Graphics Card "the cycle never ends", no need to worry. I come across a site that lets play the game Bioshock even if you only have a GC that's only capable with shader model 2. W/o this hack the game is unplayable/or too slow for some cards. You guys should try using swift shader 2.0 or 3d analyze which will solve the problems for you. Note that your processor should be fast and u have lots of ram cause swift shader uses the processor as a vga and it will get a burden. that all i can get for ya!

Hello there,
I have a Q about a game im playing, i have a 265mb HD vid card + a dual core AMD 2.8 and 4 gigs of ram + im runnin on vista. The problem i have is with Devil May Cry 3, i surpass the minimum and medium game requirements yet the game lags a liddle bit making the "buissy" seens lagg a bit. Im wondering what this could b, either the game uses software that i surpassed or the vid card is to low. Can you guys plz help me out on this?
