Princes Street Primary School

Princes Street Primary School (PSPS) is a state primary school in Hobart, Tasmania, specifically Sandy Bay. The front side of the school is on Randall St. Other sides face on to Lord St and Princes Street. The school has approximately 325 students in kinder - grade six. PSPS's area encompasses Dynnyrne and Sandy Bay but many students reside in Mt Nelson/Tolmans Hill. PSPS's most notable students are AFL players, Jack Riewoldt and his cousin Nick Riewoldt.
Facilities
Library
In 2011 the John Flannigan library was built. It was dedicated to a past teacher, Karolyn Kanapack. Many state politicians were present to see it opened.
Main Building
The Main building holds:
* All grade one - grade six classrooms
* Art Room
* Kitchen
* Hall (used for sports and Assemblies)
* Canteen
Kinder Building
In the kinder building there is the kinder's classroom and the daycare centre.
Playgrounds
There are three main playgrounds at PSPS. They are:
* "Big Playground". Which is the biggest playground in the school.
* "Little Playground". The playground for kinder - grade 2 (although older kids can use it).
* The kinder playground which is within the gate boundaries of the kinder block and can only be used by kinders.
Subjects
All students have one main teacher and do all there learning with the same people. There are other subjects but these are once a week and no grading is given on these subjects.

High School
PSPS is a feeder school to Taroona High School and a majority of students go to Taroona High for high school.
Some students go to private schools like: The Hutchins School, The Friends School, The Fahan School and St Virgles.
A small amount of students go to New Town High which is another public high school in New Towm.
