Primal Evil

Primal Evil is a 3rd person singleplayer mod for Half-Life 2. It is influenced by third-person action games such as God of War. Its main protagonist is a knight in full battle armor, currently without a name. On the concepts shown he wields a long sword, which will most likely be his main weapon during the game. Currently, a trailer is announced, but it is unknown when it will come out.

Plot
The story resolves around an unnamed knight. He lives with a girl, apparently his wife. One day a portal opens and a bunch of Half-Life zombies emerge. They kidnap the girl and the knight goes to save her. In order to do so he must find three artifacts, one for each race, and then to put them in a temple. It is unknown what happens next, but the game director Ridler says that this will not be the end.

Gameplay -
The gameplay strongly resembles God of War. They have the same action pattern and similar elements. In Primal Evil the player will be able to perform Fatality over an enemy by pressing the E button. The fatality will depend on the kind of enemy and the chosen weapon.
There are going to be a lot of weapons, currently announced are the sword and a few kinds of magic.

Controversy
The mod met negative comments because of its direct rip-off of a knight from World of Warcraft, being rendered by a man who is not connected to the mod and hasn't given his permission for its use. The rip-off became even more obvious when a fan noticed the Stormwind logo on the knight's chest on the second concept. The game director Ridler said that this will be the actual player model, but later stated that he will do some changes to avoid being sued.
