Prashant Kanojia is an Indian journalist turned politician, he is a president of SC/ST cell of Rashtriya Lok Dal, and was arrested for a tweet against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He was arrested on 8th June 2019 from his New Delhi residence by UP Police in civil dress. Very soon after his arrest protest broke down on street calling attack on freedom of expression and press. A number of Journalist marched in national capital against the arrest. His wife Jagisha Arora approached Supreme Court of India and the apex court ordered Prashant's release, who was kept in Lucknow Jail. He walked out of jail on 12th June 2019. He was arrested again for a fake tweet on Ram mandir.
