Pop ballad

A pop ballad is a genre of music used to describe a song that contains emotional themes, is generally slow in tempo but still has the singalong, commercial sound of pop music's other genres dance pop and mid tempo pop music. Generally pop artists like to switch between these three genres most notably The Pussycat Dolls and Christina Aguilera. Irish band Westlife and British singer Will Young are known for being prominent in their singing of pop ballads.
