Pomparkour is a form of urban acrobatics combining pompier ladder climbing and parkour. Pomparkour was promoted as a new non-competitive sport in a 2010 advertising campaign produced by Colenso BBDO for V energy drink. According to Colenso group accounts director Angela Watson, the sport originated as a leisure activity for a group of stuntmen in New Zealand who had previously worked with Cirque du Soleil and a Power Rangers television show. In 2010, Colenso shot a television advertisement featuring the stuntmen to promote V's new Isokinetic energy drink. In addition to the television commercials, V also featured pomparkour on their online community V Republic and launched accompanying print and Adshel street furniture campaigns in New Zealand. Pomparkour was featured on the TV3 current affairs show Campbell Live. The advertising campaign was covered in the National Business Review.
